Why I’m Starting This Blog (and why you might want to stick around)

Welcome to the Candlelit Gathering.

If you have found your way to my tiny corner of the internet, I have a feeling we already share a few things: a love of stories, a curiosity to learn things, and a soft spot for all things cozy, clever, and maybe even slightly unexpected.

I’m starting this blog because in a world that sometimes feels a bit too fast and loud, I am learning to lean into more things that bring me joy and calm. I crave something slower. Something cozier. Something lit with candlelight and wrapped in a well-worn cardigan, with rain sounds tapping against fallen leaves outside while warm spices infuse the air inside.

What You Can Expect Around Here

I think we can all use a little more mystery and magic sprinkled into everyday life, so think of this blog as part cozy book club, part theme party planning guide, part resource for all things creative and inspiring.

Some of the things you will find:

  • Cozy Mysteries & Classic Whodunits – From nostalgic TV series like Murder, She Wrote to modern cozy reads and recommendations, to discussion on who was the best (or worst!) movie Poirot.
  • Themed Celebrations – Ideas for hosting your own gatherings inspired by books, seasons, or eras. Whether it’s a murder mystery dinner for 10 or a vintage tea party for one, we’re leaning in.
  • Cozy Living & Creative Escapes – Reading nooks, aesthetically themed rooms, comfort cooking, and seasonal decor. Gathering ideas and inspirations to turn the everyday into something a bit more cozy.

But Why Cozy? Why Now?

Because cozy doesn’t mean boring.

Because there is magic in the mundane.

Because clever women with a notepad and curiosity are to be cherished.

This blog is my way of sharing the spark of whimsy that brings me joy. It’s a celebration of life events, big or small, friends, stories, seasons, and cozy things that feel like a hug and a puzzle at the same time.

If that sounds like something you may also need, then I invite you to pull up your chair, pour a warm drink, and stay as long as you need.

Whatever brings you here, I’m so glad you came. I hope this space brings you inspiration, a longer TBR pile, and encourages you to create a little cozy magic of your own!

Stay curious, stay cozy, and never underestimate the power of tea and a good alibi.

Cara
